¿ Read ã Luminous (Once Bitten, Twice Shy, #3) by Noelle Marie ↠´ Very enjoyable addition to the series There were some trigger issues but otherwise great book These shifters take pregnancy to a whole other level Four glittery stars Look At You Such A Healthy Flush You Re Positively Glowing Luminous, EvenKatherine Didn T Think She Had Ever Heard So Many Creative Ways Of Being Called Fat Before Except She Wasn T Fat, Of Course Even Worse, She Was Pregnant When Katherine Begins Experiencing Seemingly Random Physiological Changes A Few Months After Being Claimed As Bastian S Mate, She S Terrified That She May Somehow Be Losing Her Supernatural Abilities Her Inner Wolf , So To Speak In Many Ways, Though, The Truth Is Even Scarier She S Pregnant Amidst Dealing With Morning Sickness, Wondering How She S Going To Push A Baby The Size Of A Melon Out Of Her You Know, And, Oh Yeah, Figuring Out A Way To Tell Bastian The Life Altering News, Katherine Finds Herself Shedding Her Initial Apprehension Over Her Pregnancy And Becoming Enad With The Idea Of A Baby Unfortunately, In A World Where Fertile Wombs Among Werewolves Are As Rare As They Are Revered, Envy And Covetousness Abound Evil Both The Kind That Lurks In Shadows, And The Kind That Blatantly Rears Its Ugly Head Threaten To Rip Away From Katherine Everything She Never Knew She Wanted Who Could Know That Her Uterus, And The Little Life Growing Inside It, Would Ever Cause Her So Much Trouble Out of all three books this one was the hardest to get through Because even though Katherine is young, you would think after the two previous books she d have gotten a little wiser I found her to be a complete twit in this third installment She was so horribly stupid I was kind ve rooting for her death I m glad for the HEA, but if there is ever a forth book I hope Katherine FINALLY gets a working brain.
For the entire seriesAhh Where to begin I was intrigued with the way the story began, even though I thought the age of the h H were a bit young Katherine is a 16 yr old girl who is attacked and turned into a werewolf She appears to be sensible girl in the beginning after being led to believe her parents are dead and is kidnapped by Bastian and his pack She turns out to be a petulant and impulsive person At first the author suppresses her by having her tolerate all the snide remarks made to her then out of nowhere she starts fighting back but it just comes off as immature She is to he most unfortunate soul who happens to find herself in every bad situation that can happen over and over She has so many head injuries I thought for sure she would have problems later on Bastian character is slightly less annoying even though throughout the series never discusses or discloses anything to Katherine even though she s his mate There are just so many faults with these characters who had so much potential to grow but never did There was no evolution to them just different things happening to move the story along I had high hopes but they were quickly dashed away Very enjoyable addition to the series There were some trigger issues but otherwise great book These shifters take pregnancy to a whole other level Four glittery stars Yes I really enjoyed this installment of the series We get to see that things have slowed down a bit for Katherine and Bastian Their pack is worried about the low birth rate, and the fact that, bitten werewolf women don t or haven t gotten pregnant Unit Katherine does get pregnant Other packs have been having the same problem of no or low birth rates, and that means that Katherine, showing she is fertile, becomes valuable, and coveted, which puts her in danger I recommend reading, Bitten and Shy before Luminous, but even if you don t, you ll enjoy this book.
Yes I really enjoyed this installment of the series We get to see that things have slowed down a bit for Katherine and Bastian Their pack is worried about the low birth rate, and the fact that, bitten werewolf women don t or haven t gotten pregnant Unit Katherine does get pregnant Other packs have been having the same problem of no or low birth rates, and that means that Katherine, showing she is fertile, becomes valuable, and coveted, which puts her in danger I recommend reading, Bitten and Shy before Luminous, but even if you don t, you ll enjoy this book.
I might have given this a higher rating, but the MC in this series kept making the same STUPID mistakes again and again, which of course, meant she had to be rescuedAGAIN By this book I was thinking she was Too Stupid To Live and just wanted the series to end.
This ended up being my favorite of the series I suspected it would be too I didn t like how the synopsis gave away the book s subject If I didn t read it, then when starting the book I wouldn t have known about the pregnancy and given the subject, it would have been a lovely surprise I think the quirks of the pregnancy was very well done and unique to the series I really enjoyed this book Again, the protectiveness of Bastian was stomach curling, but was also well done considering the occurrences in the novel When she didn t tell him right away since he said that he didn t want children, I was worried that this would be carried into pointless, annoying nonsense but I was happy to see it wasn t It dragged on for what I think was an appropriate amount of time and then ended I was torn over the plot of this novel, despite enjoying it I think having Katherine get kidnappedagainand be threatened to be raped.
again is a little annoying Cute but after the first two books, it s tiresome At the same time, I did enjoy it, especially since they spoke about the Western colony And because I loved seeing Bastian be how he was In fact, having a chapter or two in his perspective would have been perfect I m also going to give a bit of a series review here One thing that annoyed me was the flashbacks And I use quotes around it for a reason They were long, frequent, and less of a flashback For example, this would occur fight breaks out Katherine gets hurt End chapter New chapter Three days later and Katherine is healing And then instead of a summary of what happened, or even a short flashback of something important that happened in that last few days, we get a 2 5 page italicized flashback Why Why not just make that a chapter I.
e Katherine gets hurt, end chapter, new chapter, what happened right after End chapter New chapter Three days later and is still healing During the first book, I learned to ignore it, but at the halfway point of it, it just became too much Because they re quite frequent, and always long and a similar situation that was just presented.
I found the writing could also use a once over I think with this series it was the author s writing how she chose to write it that bothered methan the series itself Because i did really enjoy the story Understanding that it is a YA, so I don t judge it for certain YA qualities It was a fun werewolf romance story And I suppose despite the issues I had with all 3 books, the author still wins, because I would like to check out her other books.
the last book in the trilogy, I want to say this was the best book in the series except that Katherine is so, so, so dumb and irresponsible, and how or why her pack insists she is strong, smart, courageous, is beyond my understanding As she had to be strong only to survive what she herself got herself into, smart she continually put herself indanger by hitting, spitting and bad mouthing her psychopath captor, not too smart in my book Courageous, only when defying her own pack to get her way smhThe book starts off when they return from her escape to her parents house, and she realizes that her home is with her pack, not her parents Things go smooth and everything seems to fall into place, when again, she falls for the same trick, with the same person that almost had her killed the first time and is kidnapped and taken to another colony of werewolves, dangerous and primitive with no rules and is held captive there for at least 3 weeks, before her pack discovers what happened to her Since of course, our smart Katherine in a pissy fit after a confrontation decided to leave without telling anyone where she would go.
I m honestly disappointed when it comes to the execution of this book and that sucks because I really wanted to love it I ve read every single book Noelle Marie has written and I love every single one of them, especially the first two books in this series That s what makes me so sad that I couldn t love this book I was honestly expectingromance andwerewolf moments and the fact that Noelle reduced this because of the head character s pregnancy no spoilers I mean, just look at the book cover and her kidnapping just took away the excitement and experience I got from the first books Still, it s not all bad There is romance and drama and werewolf Just not enough to live up to the standard of the whole series I still love this authors work and I will keep reading the books she publishes I believe this was a one time thing and that she will keep writing great stories for us I m looking forward to her next book Like what This was one of the worst books I every read, and I am someone who most of the time is not that critical as long as I enjoy the story First, it is incredibely boring and repetative Sexual assault almost rape check, Katherine being hold captive check, Katherine and Bastian argueing a lot because the author seems to not think teenagers dominant werewolfs don t communicate check, Katherine being insecure about her relationship check How does someone thinks that 17 and pregnant is okay just because you are a werewolf I mean, it is fine but not for me if you want to be pregnant at 17, but Katherine does not want to and is clearly not ready, but it is all excused because she is a werewolf, like wtf In general just boring, lacks action that is not predicatable and to much sexual assault again.
Ok, I m not sure where to start with this When I finished book 2 in this series I said to myself I hope the kidnapping attempts are over and we can move on.
Needless to say I was VERY disappointed I mean come on how stupid is Katherine You fall for nearly the same trick to get you alone and by the same person I was pretty annoyed The story would have been better without the constant abductions I found myself skimming the last few chapters because I couldn t stand it Thankfully this was the last book in the series.
Out of all three books this one was the hardest to get through Because even though Katherine is young, you would think after the two previous books she d have gotten a little wiser I found her to be a complete twit in this third installment She was so horribly stupid I was kind ve rooting for her death I m glad for the HEA, but if there is ever a forth book I hope Katherine FINALLY gets a working brain.
